Here's an update of my life: I’ve been binge watching Sex and the City, drooling over next season collections, and learning how to cook and clean (in snail speed); all of which are supposed to prepare me for college life. There is a certain giddiness involved when thinking about starting college all alone, but there are certain things that I know will stick by me like comfort food — music and clothes.

Hopefully London will open me up to a larger variety of both these things, one of the main perks of moving away from home to an even more diverse city. So with my love for these two elements, and my new love for the not-so-new notion of disco (you just can’t help but fall into it grooving), I fell in love with the Resort 2016 collection by Sonia Rykiel. There is something very 70’s about the whole collection, which is when disco was all the rage (I kind of wish it still is, coordinated dances and all). In this collection, Julie de Libran (current creative director) created a beautiful balance between boldness, with the use of sharp primary colors, and Parisian elegance through the silhouettes and the beautiful heels. It's all very mix-and-matchy, but it doesn’t look it and is very wearable because everything goes when it's disco. Why? Because, disco isn’t just a genre of music and dancing and something of the past, it is an attitude for being free, confident, and fun. Or maybe it isn’t, oh what do I know I was born in the 90’s.

P.S. Relive the 70's through CHIC's music video for its new disco release below (psst, Karlie's in it).
